Gurudwara Kotwali Sahib Village Morinda

On 7 December 1705, Guru Gobind Singh Ji alongwith his two elders sons and his disciples were caught in a unequal battle at Chamkaur. Guruji mother and his two younger sons led by Gangu Ram their domestic servent got separated from Guruji. They were arrested at his village Sahen after they were betrayed by their servant. They were taken to Bassi where they were kept for one day under custody later Mata Gujari and Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh and Fateh Singh were brought to Morinda by Jani Khan and Mani Khan, the Rangher headmen. This Gurdwara sahib marks this very event. They were despatched the next day to Sirhind where they were entombed alive in a wall and then executed on 12 December 1705. It 1763, the Dal Khalsa before advancing on Sirhind, attacked and destroyed Morinda. Jani Khan and Mani Khan were killed
