Gurudwara Tegh Bahadur Sahib Village Himayupur Print E-mail

Gurudwara Tegh Bahadur Sahib Village Himayupur

This Gurdwara is dedicated to the Ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. After effecting a truce between the kings of Assam and Bengal, Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib stopped at this place while on his way back to Anandpur Sahib. He had been requested to do so by his devotee, Sant Shivcharan Dass. Sant Shivcharan Dass and his fellow villagers served Guru Sahib and his followers wholeheartedly. Pleased at this hospitality, Guru Sahib blessed Shivcharan Dass. He bestowed on the village great prosperity and said that a beautiful Gurdwara would be built here and that whoever prayed here would have his wishes fulfilled. Later, the Tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh came here from Lakhnaur Sahib and stayed with Sant Shivcharan Dass. He too repeated the words of Guru Tegh Bahadur.

Location
This Gurdwara is located in village Humayunpur on the Ambala Naraiangarh Road, about three kms from village Panjhokhra and eight km east of Lalru.
