Pomp of Wealth

1. The big pompous men of the world,
Can be of no good to you, O ignorant man.

2. Of what use is wealth,
Amassed by wrongful means?

3. Worldly wealth is false capital,
One may lose it in a moment.

4. One is poisoned with the very wealth that one has accumulated,
It will prove unfaithful in the end.

5. Blessed is that hut wherein are sung the glories of the Lord;
The palace which leads people to forget the Master is of no use.

6. There is no peace Even after earning much wealth.

7. Why are you crying for wealth? All your yearning for riches is futile.

13. O Brother, neither riches nor thy body goes with thee;
The Lord's Nam is the real wealth, And it is gifted away to thee by the Guru.
